Cathedral rock, on the left, is the third officially recognized vortex. Considered magnetic, female or yin. Go to Red Rock Crossing and view Cathedral rock. This is probably the most photographed site of Arizona as well . . . . not counting the Grand Canyon. If you view it from this point of view it will appear as if a man and woman are standing back to back. On the right another shot of Boynton Canyon. One more popular hiking areas.

Ahh . . .One of my favorite places in the red rocks . The hike to the top of this butte is like no other. There are archeological sites and rock art all over it. About ten years ago a helicopter was flying by a cavern near here, the sun was shining in at just the right angle and low and behold, a five gallon ceramic pot completely in tact. Sorry . . . . this one remains a secret

On the left, is a shot of Verde River as it snakes through the western corner of the Verde Valley near the mouth of Sycamore Canyon, also known as the Little Grand Canyon. I'm not sure where this one is on the right, but it looks like the Western canyons outside of town.

"The earliest writers have told us the Indians experienced this laned's spirit and beauty long before recorded history. Undoubtedly, the Anasazi or "Ancient Ones" witnessed nature's powerful and awesome theatrical shows long before white men or Spaniards viewed electrical storms among the red cliffs or observed the forces of water rearranging boulders, shale, and vegetation.Today, net surfing gives an armchair traveler a colorful and readily accessible glimpse into the charms of the Red Rock Country and this city.
The Red Rocks were purportedly millions of years in the making. When one observes a boulder appearing tenuously balanced above some new residence, there is a tendency to worry. What if it falls ? However, if it has stayed there for the past few thousand years without movement, perhaps there is little cause to worry? One might trust it will remain so another hundred years or longer! "
